'Printing' the negative space of the letters. Colour explosion!

Find a location for your selected word and create a composition, bearing in mind the cross-over between language and context. You only get one chance to capture this with a Polaroid photo.

Day 2: Cleaning up the letters and assembling them. How many words can you make with these letters? Artistic license allows you to turn the letters upside down to reveal further possibilities...

Cardboard moulds are built in order to cast the letters with plaster.

The acquired codes for each team are translated into letters.

For the Students!

The purpose of this Workshop programme is to assist the participating GCSE and A/S art students in their development and understanding of contemporary art practice. This blog acts as a virtual archive of the sessions, with a brief descriptive text as a guide for the participants and other visitors.

Accompanying the visual recording of the activities is also a point of contextual reference. Here, the students can access the artists and other references presented throughout the sessions to help support both their engagement with the workshops but also their academic studies in the final year of education at GCSE level or A-levels.
